The water Science Unit undertakes research on the water resources Peninsula water resources, with emphasis on underground water bodies, assessing them in terms of their quantity and quality, thereby contributing to their responsible management and sustainable use. Two are the main questions addressed: How many water is available?, and What is his quality? To this purpose two main research lines have been opened: Water quality and Hydrogeology. The goal is to model the flow of the aquifers and the contaminants' dispersion, while continuously monitoring the quality of the water for agricultural, industrial, and residential uses.
